Om Prakash - Today, every patient I serve reminds me how far dedication and guidance can take you.

Published on September 06, 2025

My name is Onprakash, and when I first stepped into the world of hospitality, I knew nothing about fine service, patient care, or professional standards. I only knew one thing — I was ready to learn. I joined as a Trainee Steward, quietly observing, listening, and absorbing everything around me. From the way food was prepared and served, to how cleanliness and timing mattered, I began learning hospitality from A to Z.

In the beginning, I made mistakes. I was nervous while serving, unsure how to communicate, and sometimes overwhelmed by the fast pace. But every correction shaped me. Seniors guided me patiently, and I slowly understood that hospitality is not just about serving food — it is about serving with respect, empathy, and responsibility.

Today, my journey has brought me to a place I once thought was impossible. I now handle service operations catering to nearly 350 patients every single day. In a hospital environment, this responsibility is not small. Every meal must be timely, hygienic, and delivered with sensitivity. Patients are not just customers — they are people fighting battles we cannot see.

There are days when the workload is heavy, when urgency fills the corridors, and when emotions run high. Yet, I remind myself why I started. Each tray I serve carries care. Each interaction is an opportunity to bring comfort. I may have begun as a trainee, but today I stand with confidence, discipline, and pride.

Looking back, I realize my journey was never just about promotion — it was about transformation. From learning the basics to leading large-scale operations, I have grown step by step. And every day, when I walk into the hospital, I carry gratitude in my heart — because hospitality taught me not just a profession, but a purpose.
